FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS
Parish councils are empowered to raise money for their activities through a tax (the “Precept”) on the village residents which is then collected on their behalf by the District Council. This is then paid to the Parish Council in two equal instalments.
Our financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March. Each year in January we agree an annual budget and decide how much the annual Precept should be set at.
Once the internal audit and accounts have been approved by the council we submit our annual accounts in the form of an Annual Return to an external auditor - currently PKF Littlejohn LLP - 15 Westferry Circus, Canary Wharf. London. E14 4HD (sba@pkf-l.com)
